DPA History

Digital Print Australia began its life as The Bureau, established in 1973 as a boutique graphic design and typesetting tradehouse, servicing the print industry in Adelaide, South Australia.

In the years that followed, it earned a reputation for reliability, innovation and technical excellence. The company installed Adelaide's first digital typesetting equipment in 1982, and Australia's third Linotronic L300 imagesetter in the mid 80's, spearheading the PostScript digital imaging revolution in the graphic arts industry nationally.

The Bureau continued to remain at the forefront of prepress technology during the 90's and into the new millennium, embracing advances in these new technologies such as high-resolution drum and flatbed scanning and film output, digital inkjet proofing and digital B&W and colour printing. Complementing this, The Bureau gathered staff with extensive technical and software knowledge to provide support to their client's prepress needs.

In response to a decline in film output demand in the mid-00's The Bureau sought a change in direction. This culminated in 2007 with a new name, Digital Print Australia, and a new focus on providing the very highest level of digital print excellence, whilst still offering its traditional core prepress services. With this change came an increased level of internet services and a new website more suited to the changing needs of modern clients.

With over 35 years experience, Digital Print Australia continues to pioneer digital prepress and print solutions and takes pride in the services it makes available to a large and diverse client base.
