Mates will do anything for each other. Isn't that what they say?
by David Roy Morgan
Would you do anything for your best mate, anything at all, no matter the cost!! Mates will do anything for each other. Isn't that what they say?
It's a beast. No, not a beast. A myriad of beasts who have weaved their way into this plant's DNA, its code to life - or is it the code to death!!
Dave Morrison is a typical country bloke made good. Recently graduated as a Genetic Microbiologist, he works for GenTec, a US based Biotechnology Company with a genetic research facility in Adelaide.
Like most, his best mate Jake has a few weaknesses. One is his liking to smoke an occasional joint rolled from his own home grown, totally organic cannabis. While Jake reckons his cannabis is the best there is, he thinks Dave may be able to make it even better.
Dave tells Jake the whole process to genetically modify a cannabis plant will take years. But Dave hasn't counted on some undercover, high level assistance from the United States. He also has not considered just how high the stakes will reach in this innocent attempt to maintain his lifelong friendship.
Ted Corrigan, who has ambitions for the highest political office, can see Dave's work as a means to an end. He will go to any lengths to ensure his future ambitions are realised. Even sending a team of operatives to a small country town in the north of outback South Australia, with orders to cleanse and retrieve - but most importantly, to cleanse.
Remember, when your Mum said "don't touch"? She just might have been right.
